He is also author and director of 20 musical plays, many of them with all presentations sold out, including: – “Filhos do Brazil”: winner of 5 awards at the Festival Teatro/RJ-2009. He wrote the award-winning children’s book “O Vale Encantado”, nominated by the Ministry of Education of Brazil to be adopted by brazilian’s schools’ first grade. In march 2016 the director finishes his third and already accclaimed film ‘The Perfume of Memory’.
In november 2013 he released a second film and also praised film, ‘Solitudes’. In his first feature film ‘Leo e Bia’ (2010), Oswaldo Montenegro was consecrated by brazilian critics and was awarded prizes for the best soundtrack (Oswaldo Montenegro), best actress (Paloma Duarte) in his debut at the Film Festival Cine-PE. Throughout his career, Oswaldo Montenegro has produced more than 40 soundtracks for theater, movies, television and ballets.
